Oh8 Digital is a design and development studio based in Irene, Gauteng, South Africa. For this website we are the responsible party under POPIA, which means we decide how your personal information is used.

When you fill in the contact form, we collect what you type into it:

• your name
• your email address
• your company name, if you give it
• the service you are interested in, if you choose one
• your budget range, if you choose one
• your message

When you email or phone us using the details on this site, we receive your email address or phone number and whatever you tell us.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information in its server logs, such as your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, and the pages you request. This keeps the site running and secure. We do not use it to identify you.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores one small note in your browser for the length of your visit, so that it does not replay the opening animation every time you return to the home page. That note contains no personal information and is deleted when you close the tab.

We use the information you send us to:

• reply to your enquiry
• understand what you need, so we can scope and quote your project
• keep a record of our conversation if we go on to work together

We rely on your consent when you send us a message, and on our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us. Giving us your information is voluntary. Without your name, email address and message, we cannot reply to you.

We will not sell your personal information, and we will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and handle messages. They process your information only on our instructions:

• Vercel Inc. hosts the website and keeps its server logs.
• Discord Inc. delivers new contact form messages to our team's private channel.

We share your information with anyone else only if the law requires it.

Both of these providers store or process information outside South Africa, in the United States. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard that is similar to POPIA, through their own data protection laws, their privacy terms or both. By sending us a message, you agree to your information being transferred for the purposes in this policy.

We keep contact form messages and emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. If we do not go on to work together, we delete them within 12 months of our last contact. If you become a client, we keep them for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.

Our hosting provider keeps server logs for a short period set by its own policy.

The website only loads over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only the Oh8 Digital team can see the messages you send us, and our service providers are required to keep your information secure. No system is completely secure, so if a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy of it
• ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date
• ask us to delete your information
• object to us using your information
• withdraw your consent at any time

To use any of these rights, email hello@oh8digital.co.za. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request, and we will reply within a reasonable time.

If you are not happy with how we handle your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa:

This website is meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy when our website or the services we use change. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
